Google Calendar — Guide

Telegram is where you agree on a plan. Google Calendar is where many people keep the rest of the week on phone and laptop. The bot works without Google. Linking is a choice you make in a private chat.

How Google Calendar data is used

Google Calendar is optional. The bot works in Telegram without it. Linking uses Google’s official sign-in in the browser (/connect in a private chat with the bot).

We ask Google for:

• Calendar events — to create, update, and delete events that you confirm in Telegram on the calendar you choose, and to read events on every connected calendar so the bot can warn you about overlapping times, regardless of which Telegram group or topic the plan came from. Overlap titles are shown only to you in Telegram.
• List of your calendars — so you can pick which calendar to use (/gcal) and so the bot can check every connected calendar for overlaps.
• Email — to show which Google account is linked.

Each person who connects gets events on their own Google Calendar. We store OAuth tokens, the Google account email, per-chat calendar choice, your favorite event color, and Google event ids needed to update or cancel later. Reminders are sent by the bot in Telegram.

You can pause copying for one chat with /gsync off or unlink everything with /disconnect.

This app’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell Google user data. We do not use it for advertising. Tic_Time’s use of Google user data is limited to the Calendar features you see in Telegram. Full detail: Privacy Policy.

How to link and unlink

In a private chat with the bot, write /connect. Google opens in the browser. Read the Privacy Policy before you approve. After you approve, confirmed plans can appear on the calendar you choose.

Pick which calendar goes with which chat (/gcal), set one favorite event color for every chat so quizzes don’t look like dentist visits (/gcolor), or pause copying for one chat without unlinking everything (/gsync off). /disconnect unlinks Google and deletes the stored tokens from our database. Reminders still come from the bot in Telegram — we don’t rely on Google’s own reminder pop-ups.
